the first home match of the season-....no more putting up the goals which was like the krypton factor never could get the hang of them-......just nets now-hopefully we could manage this. A sunny day again could we match last weeks great win. It was Marlow one of our closest rivals over the last couple of seasons so it was going to be hard ........and we were tired ....very .......the day before had been tough for as some of our players  14 were involved in a school soccer tournament where they got through to the semi-finals and final which was fantastic but draining-on doing this some of them have been selected for the school county trials so well done to Ben Booker,

William Russell, Harry Mepham,Elliot Wills, and William Taylor. So on with the match-to say we started slowly was an under statement we nearly always do today we started as fast as a snail and Marlow were on us straight away. Loads of effort but no passing well we passed the ball very well to the Marlow players. Will Taylor was right in the thick of it with some fine saves we were well out of sorts but if there is one thing we have is bags of desire every season we have shown this and now at the moment that was keeping us in the game.Marlow with all this effort had not scored...after about 15minutes we started to at least play in there half -

the trouble was that we had no width and the forwards were not getting good service everything was up the middle and we were all starting to get a little stressed----stay calm stay calm.Just when you think you have weathered the storm bang we were 1-0 down we failed to clear the ball and were  punished great shot inside the post Will had no chance........now we had to get on our game but I just could not see how we could get back in it.

All our energy was low- but desire can get you back up there end of the pitch and somehow not through neat football we forced a corner. Again just like last week Harry struck it over -but there was no direct contact-- just a classic goal mouth scramble with Carlo getting the final touch 1-1 and we back in it ...game on .......right before half time.

The second half started in a different way the snails had changed into greyhound’s right up and into Marlow every tackle was ours every second ball we won. Marlow now  seemed very edgy and looked tired but they were not giving in and for the next 10 minutes it was end to end with chances starting to come for both teams .Harry had moved form the middle to the right where he started to have a lot of room the width was helping Carlo and Jack W up front with James on the left making good runs the game was really open .

Ben spargos energy was also having great effect .William Russell played very well at the back holding the defence together- we had changed a few at halftime with Jacob R and Jake G . Owen had dropped deeper into midfield .... back to total football ......we can dream The one player who started to make great inroads was Jack Whelan his strong running had worked on a smaller scale in the first half but now with us in control he was well on his game- good pass through from the midfield where his strength carried him into the Marlow Penalty area and with a wonderful finish it was 2-1....Desire and now skill well deserved...Marlow’s house was crumberling.

Now with total control we pushed on even with the odd attack from Marlow we easily stemmed the tide. We looked good for at least another goal and it came from a corner which again was only half cleared the ball went across the face of the Marlow goal mouth where Jack W slotted his second it was 3-1  it his and our day another great winMarlow were beaten but in true spirit were very gracious in defeat we have over the season built up a very good relationship with them they are fine club and long may it continue...

This win puts at the top of the table after two games- I know it only the beginning and its still a long way to go but its been a great start not quite Roy of the Rovers------tune in for the next Chapter ...its a blast... just hope we can keep our voices...
